"The City of dead" Moenjodaro

The word Moenjodaro means “the city of dead”. This ancient city was discovered in 1922 by a British archaeologist Sir John Marshal. It belongs to the great Indus valley civilization which came into existence about 5000 years ago and it is the region now called Pakistan.

It was a planned cities with proper sanitation, streets widen up to 33 feet and with well planned markets. They belive that this civilization people worshiped idols, because many idols were found around the city. They had trade with almost all the counties in and around them. They import copper, silver, and bronze and tin from central Asia. These metals were used to prepare weapons, jewels and other daily utensils.

The city was destructed about 2500 years ago. They believe, flood would have caused the sever damage and it would main reason for the destruction.
